Merry Christmas from the Disneys – Chile
These last weeks have passed so quickly! We have a lot to share, so we will get right to it.
Dave’s Health and our Return to Chile:
Dave’s latest PSA test showed a ZERO! The doctor would like to see him again in January, and then have a six-month follow-up. Meanwhile, Dave has nearly completed the specialized therapy; and although he has not been able to recuperate 100 percent, he has made significant progress. Our prayer is that he might heal completely in the months to come.
With all of this in mind, the doctor has told Dave that he is clear to return to Chile whenever he feels that he can handle it. So, we have set the date to go back to the field on January 10, 2017. As you can imagine, we are extremely excited, and a little nervous! As soon as our Chilean Pastors heard about our plans, they began to ask us to participate in services, meetings and camps. It won’t take long for us to get involved!
Please pray for us as we endeavor to take up the reins once again. We understand that we have a few limitations on our physical strength and ability right now, but we also know that the Lord always leads each one to serve within their means, and we trust Him for each day as it comes.
Our Chilean Churches:
We continue to pray for the Bible Baptist Church of La Reina as they work through the challenge of the expropriation of the property. This has certainly been a lengthy challenge, and we are thankful for the dedication of Pastor Hugo Ulloa through it all. Please pray that this will be resolved soon, and that the Lord will benefit His church with an even more wonderful situation than before!
Pastor Tito Orellana has reported to us that the Bible Baptist Church of Macul, Santiago, which just celebrated their tenth anniversary, has recently begun construction on their new Sunday School building. This is one of the projects that we have been asking our partners to pray for. They are stepping out on faith that the Lord will continue to provide the necessary funds to finish as soon as possible. Pastor Tito says that doing the work themselves would take probably a year and a half. If they could pay a contractor, they believe the work could be finished in around five months. Please pray that the Lord will provide the need
Pedro Flores has served for the last several years in our mission work in Los Angeles, Chile. This past month Pedro and his family accepted the call to a church in a town about 30 miles to the north called Monte Aguila. The present pastor is going to serve as a missionary in Morocco. Please pray for Pedro and for our group’s new missionary to Morocco.
May the Lord richly bless each one of you in this Christmas Season and in the New Year to come. We appreciate you! With the Lord’s leading, our next prayer letter will be sent in February from Chile.
