January 2010

Dear Friends,

It is such a joy and an honor to serve the Lord in this New Year! The years pass, and there is always more and more to be done for His glory.

In December the various churches celebrated the Christmas season with their own programs and activities. We were especially interested in Pastor Leonel’s report that the Bible Baptist Church of Hualpén had it’s highest attendance ever, with 580 folks completely filling their new auditorium. Dozens of people made professions of faith at the end of the service.

This month a New Mission is being opened up in Los Angeles, a quiet town located in South-central Chile. It is about seven or eight hours south of Santiago and has a population of about 125,000 inhabitants. For several months a young couple out of the Hualpén church has been traveling back and forth to hold Home Bible Studies there. Pedro and Jenny Flores and their three children have rented a home in town, and will now be beginning regularly scheduled services. We’ve known this couple since they were children, and we’re so thrilled that they are now in full-time service!

Here at the Bible Baptist Church of La Reina, we continue to see folks coming to the Lord. Our youth group is especially active in soul-winning activities. They have been going to the local plaza each week to pass out tracts and witness to those passing by.

Please pray for the young people here in La Reina. We can see that the Lord is dealing in the hearts of some of the young men, and at least three of them feel that the Lord has called them to full-time service. Our long-time youth director has stepped down just recently, so we have decided to take on extra responsibilities in this area for a while. We are beginning plans to take a group of young people on a missionary trip to one of the newer missions in July.

We truly appreciate your prayers and support and pray that the Lord will richly bless you in 2010.

Serving together,

Dave and Peggy Disney
