We are writing you from the Silver State Baptist Youth Camp in Colorful Colorado, where we are participating as staff missionaries at the invitation of our sending church, First Baptist Church of Englewood. There are several fine pastors taking part in the preaching services each week. Our focus has been to help teach and counsel young people about missions and evangelism, and we are thrilled with the way that the Lord has been touching so many lives. Many young people have made professions of faith. Many have dedicated their lives to serve the Lord as teachers, preachers and missionaries.
It has been wonderful to visit with some of you on the campground, and we appreciate those of you who have invited us to make our report to your church on the weekends.
We have received word from our church in Santiago that they are praying diligently for the kids here in the States. It is winter in Chile, and the season has been unusually cold, but our people are being faithful to the services and working hard. Pastor Hugo informed us this week that two ladies made professions of faith in last weekend’s services. They have also started a ladies’ choir with fourteen participants. Our young people are presently making plans for their winter camp. We are so thankful for good workers!
We have received news on the work that was started in May in the city of Castro, on the Island of Chiloe. A lady who manages an office building there was gracious enough to loan Pastor Pedro enough space in which to hold services. There were fourteen in attendance on the first day. Please pray that others will visit the work in Castro, and that many will come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Soon our U.S. summer camp project will come to an end, and we will return to Chile. Then at the end of the year we will be back to begin our regularly-scheduled furlough, which will last about five months. Although much of our calendar is full, we may be able to visit you during that time. Please be sure to contact us if you would like to confirm a date.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
