News from Chile – May, 2008
We began a new series of Bible Institute classes at the Bible Baptist Church of Santiago Over forty members of the church are currently participating.
Seven folks were baptized at the Bible Baptist Church of Santiago.
Our Youth Group held a weekend campaign with six teens making professions of faith.
Pastor Pedro Curimil and his family arrived safely to Chiloe Island, set up housekeeping, and have been making a lot of contacts.
The Curimil’s first official service in Chiloe is scheduled for May 18th. Please pray for this important meeting!
At the end of the month, we will be traveling to Colorado, at the request of our sending church, First Baptist Church of Englewood, CO, to participate for eight weeks at the Silver State Baptist Youth Camp. The camp directors want to have a missionary influence present each year to teach and counsel the visiting young people. What a terrific idea! We are very honored to have received this invitation and are praying for the opportunity to be a blessing this summer.
We will be returning to Chile after camp season to finish the year of activities here before heading up to the States for our regularly-scheduled furlough to begin in January of 2009.
Several of you have already contacted us for 2009 visits to your services or missions conferences. Our last official furlough was in 2005, so we are looking forward to seeing many of you again. Some of you have not seen us for quite awhile. If you would like for us to report to your church, there are still some services available. We would love to hear from you!
Thank you for your prayers and support.
