This has been one of the busiest years we have ever had as missionaries. At the same time, it has been quite a year for anniversaries! Please allow us to share a few with you.
25th Anniversary in Chile: It’s amazing to us how quickly the years have passed! These years have been full of blessings. We have been honored to assist in the training of many national pastors and workers and in the establishment of many new churches. Any difficult situation encountered along the way has been far outweighed by the joy of being privileged to be a part of the Lord’s service. And what a joy! This work continues to challenge us with a variety of opportunities. There is never a dull moment.
35th Wedding Anniversary: How time flies!
50th Anniversary, Bible Baptist Church of La Reina, Santiago: Throughout August we held the commemoration of our golden anniversary. Special programs were presented to familiarize our members and guests with the history of the church, our doctrinal statement and our covenant. Time was taken to show that, because of the sacrificial commitment of the servants of God who have gone before us, our church stands as a beacon of the Gospel of Christ. And, because of the continuing faithfulness of God’s people today, many young Chilean families have been able to establish churches, missions, Bible Institutes and Bible studies. We were reminded once again of the importance of being strong and true to the Word of God. There were folks saved during the month, and new members joined the church.
On August 26th our church welcomed as special guests the Baptist Bible Mission of Macul. Since November of 2006, when we sent Pastor Tito, his family and seventy of our members to begin the mission in Macul, that work has grown to near one hundred. They were able to take over most of their own administration in June of this year, and as of this month, they are completely independent and autonomous.
It is a good thing to look back and recognize the blessings of the Lord in years past. However, our key verse for this great year of celebration is I Chronicles 22:16b, “Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.” This is our desire, and it is our prayer. There are more men and women who are training and preparing to go out, and we must remain steadfast in order to encouarge and support each one.
Thank you for being a part of this ministry. May God richly bless you.
