Years ago, when we arrived here in Santiago for the first time, one of our missionary friends recommended his barber, Pedro. So many times throughout the years I have used his services and have shared many conversations with him about the Lord and His saving grace. Pedro has assured me that he made a profession of faith a long time ago when former missionary Dick Inlow witnessed to him.
The last time I went for a hair cut I told Pedro that Bro. Inlow had passed away, and he began to weep. Once again, he shared with me the story of the day he had received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and we talked for awhile about the saving grace of our Lord. And while we were talking, I realized that Pedro’s son, Peter, was also working in the shop that day and was listening intently to our conversation, so I began to witness to Peter. Within a few minutes, Peter bowed his head and received the Lord Jesus as His Savior! Now we were all weeping with joy!
Please pray that other members of this precious family might receive the Lord, and that they may grow in Him.
On another front, Peggy had to return to the States in April, as her mother was very ill. Mrs. Johnson passed away on April 29th. I then joined Peggy, and we spent a few weeks with our families before returning to Chile the first week in June. We are very grateful for those of you who knew about the situation and blessed us with your calls and letters.
We are honored to be able to serve the Lord together, and we thank you, Friends, for your prayers, support and encouragement. May the Lord richly bless each one of you.
