Evangelism

Right after sending our January prayer letter we held a two-day evangelistic conference here at the Bible Baptist Church of Santiago. It was an opportunity to re-motivate our members to continue to fulfill the Great Commission.

Something must have worked! We have had a fruitful summer. This Sunday we are holding a baptismal service and have sixteen candidates being prepared. Five more are planning to join the church by letter.

Last Sunday we again had folks standing at the entrance of the church in the morning service. Please pray with us about some very important decisions that we are making this year about the future of this church.

Pastor Leonel reports from Hualpen that evangelistic meetings were held in his church there, as well as in two other areas of that region, with good results. Their members went out in groups to witness after the meetings and reported around 200 professions of faith made in the streets.

Please pray for two new works that they are trying to get started: Pedro and Jenny are working in the community of PeƱuela, and Humberto and Veronica are holding meetings in Los Guindos.

Training

In February we once again hosted the annual Pastor’s School at Camp Aculeo. It was our largest pastor’s camp ever! Dr. Bill Smith brought timely and hard-hitting messages to 130 pastors and workers from Chile and Argentina. God really worked in the hearts and minds of those who participated during the week. We’re already looking forward to next year’s school!

March has been spent in preparation for the fall semester of the Bible Baptist Institute of Santiago. We are entering our third year of classes. There are ten pastors involved in this ministry and students from more than ten churches. The last two years we averaged over thirty students. Please pray for our inauguration on April 3rd.

Thank you for your prayers and support!
